The smallest printed matter with the largest editions: Two consecutive series of standard stamps which are available at all post offices.

Visual concept of the stamps series “Heraldry Austria” I used existing ancient graphic codes: the coats of arms of Austria’s nine federal states, which refer to their origins going back as far as the 12th century. I “zoomed” into the symbols and chose cutouts which show unexpected details and new sights. Feudal elements from the middle ages, like an imperial eagle or a church’s banner, receive an abstraction that makes them compatible with modern day Austria.
